How to Send Money to Someone at Mount Pleasant Correctional Center (All accepted methods)

Here's the key thing to know: Iowa DOC centralizes all offender banking at Fort Dodge Correctional Facility (FDCF). Mount Pleasant doesn't accept commissary deposits directly. Whether you're mailing a money order or hoping to drop off cash in person, everything routes through Fort Dodge.

How to Send Money to Someone at Mount Pleasant Correctional Center (All accepted methods)

Sending a cashier's check or money order? Mail it to the centralized address - not Mount Pleasant: IDOC Offender Fiduciary Account, 1550 L Street, Suite B, Fort Dodge, IA 50501.

  • Make the cashier’s check or money order payable to IDOC Offender Fiduciary Account.
  • Offender’s name
  • Offender’s number
  • Sender’s name
  • Sender’s complete address
  • If any of this information is missing, the deposit will be returned to you by mail.

Warning: Money orders and cashier’s checks are no longer accepted by drop-off at any institution. The only option is to mail them to the Fort Dodge address.

Prefer to skip the mail? Iowa DOC accepts electronic deposits through three providers: Access Corrections, JPay, and Western Union. These are usually the fastest option, especially if you're sending money last-minute.

For Western Union, find a nearby agent using their locator tool or call 1-800-325-6000. You can pay with cash or a debit card. Have the recipient's commissary number ready, and specify Mount Pleasant Correctional Center as the facility.

You can also use the Send2Corrections mobile app, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. You'll need a credit or debit card to complete the transaction.

  1. Call Western Union’s phone deposit line - dial 1-800-634-3422.
  2. Choose the right menu option - select option 2.
  3. Have your payment method ready - you’ll need a credit or debit card.
  4. Provide the recipient details - have the recipient’s commissary number and the facility name (Mount Pleasant Correctional Center) ready so the deposit goes to the right account.

Note: Phone deposits and app transactions require a credit or debit card.

Warning: Don’t try to drop off commissary money at Mount Pleasant (or any other institution). Iowa DOC processes incoming commissary funds through Fort Dodge, so drop-offs aren’t accepted.

Missing information is the top reason mailed deposits get delayed. If you leave off the offender's name or number - or forget to include your own name and complete address on the money order or cashier's check - Fort Dodge will mail it back. Double-check every field before you send.
