To receive phone calls, register your number through the vendor system using the inmate's TDCJ ID. Eligible inmates may access secure tablets loaded with educational, vocational, religious, and legal materials. Need phone support? Unit and telephone service lines are answered Monday–Friday during business hours. Register your telephone number through the state/vendor registration system, and be ready to enter the inmate’s TDCJ ID when prompted. Calls are routed through the vendor system and may require account funding or vendor-specific payment methods.
Remote video visits at the O’Daniel Unit are 60 minutes long. They cost $10.00 per visit, and inmates are limited to one remote video visit per month.

No—don’t include money, checks, or deposits in mail to the unit. Follow the Inmate Trust Fund mailing instructions for deposits, and avoid prohibited enclosures like cash, loose stamps, and other non-paper items.
Legal and privileged mail is typically handled through the facility’s legal-mail process, separate from general scanned mail. It’s usually inspected for contraband under different procedures and may be delivered without standard scanning.
