Inverness Jail Lobby Hours & Visiting Schedule (What Changed Feb 6, 2023)

Starting February 6, 2023, the Inverness Jail lobby closes at 3:00 PM daily. If you're used to stopping by later in the afternoon, adjust your plans. Once that lobby door closes, you're done for the day - no exceptions for lobby-based visiting tasks.

The public lobby is open Monday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. It's closed on holidays. If you need to sign up for a visit or use any lobby services, treat 3:00 PM as a hard deadline. Build in extra time for lines or unexpected delays.

Social Visiting Times

• ✓ Tuesday: 9:30 AM (in-person social visit)
• ✓ Wednesday: 9:30 AM (in-person social visit)
• ✓ Thursday: 9:30 AM (in-person social visit)
• ✓ Saturday: 9:00 AM (in-person social visit)

For social visits, every visitor must be physically present in the lobby to sign up. You'll also need to sign up at least 30 minutes before your desired visiting session. Don't cut it close - arrive too late to get on the list and you'll miss that time slot entirely.

The February 2023 change impacts lobby kiosk video visits too - they end at 3:00 PM daily. Can't make it before the cutoff? Remote video visiting from home is still available and might be your best option.
