Inverness Jail Visiting Hours: When You Can Visit In‑Person vs. Video Kiosk

In-person social visits happen Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 9:30 AM. That's it - one session per day. If you're traveling from out of town or juggling childcare and rides, plan around that single start time.

  • Saturday in-person social visit sessions: 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 2:00 PM
  • Each social visit is up to 30 minutes
  • An incarcerated person may have up to 3 social visitors per visit (children count as visitors)
  • Each incarcerated person has only two visit periods per weekend

Sign-up happens in person in the lobby - everyone visiting must be present. You need to sign up at least 30 minutes before your session starts. I'd recommend arriving 30 to 60 minutes early to account for lines and check-in.

Lobby video kiosks run Monday through Friday in two windows: 9:00 AM–11:00 AM and 1:00 PM–3:00 PM. That midday gap matters if you're trying to fit a visit around work or school pickup.

Weekends follow the same pattern: Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM–11:00 AM and 1:00 PM–3:00 PM. Show up between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM? You'll have to wait for the afternoon window.

Cost note: On-site lobby kiosk video visits are free of charge. Remote (at-home) video visits cost $5 each.

The kiosk schedule fits within the lobby schedule. Kiosks run 9:00 AM–11:00 AM and 1:00 PM–3:00 PM, while the public lobby is open daily from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM (closed on holidays). You can't do lobby kiosk visits outside those posted windows - and anything close to the 3:00 PM lobby closing can cut it tight.

The public lobby is open Monday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. It's closed on holidays. Even if your visit time falls later in the day, lobby hours determine when you can check in or use the kiosk.

Heads up: Effective February 6, 2023, the Inverness Jail lobby closes at 3:00 PM each day - so plan your arrival with that cutoff in mind.

Visits aren't always guaranteed, and it's frustrating to travel only to find out you can't get in. Call Inverness Jail at 503-988-5060 before you head out to confirm current visiting availability. Coordinating between facilities? You can reach the Multnomah County Detention Center (MCDC) at 503-988-3689.
