What you can’t bring and what to wear for visits at Nacogdoches County Jail
Heading to Nacogdoches County Jail for a visit? A few simple choices can mean the difference between a smooth check-in and getting turned away at the door. Here's what you need to know.
Banned Items
- ✓ Purses
- ✓ Handbags
- ✓ Cell phones
Leave your purse, handbag, and cell phone behind - none of these are allowed in the visitation area. Secure them in your car or find another spot for them before you head to check-in.
Prohibited Clothing
- ✓ Halter tops
- ✓ Spaghetti-strap tops
- ✓ Mini skirts or mini shorts
- ✓ Low-cut (revealing) clothing
- ✓ See-through (transparent) clothing
- ✓ Drug-, alcohol-, or gang-related attire (imagery or wording)
Dress conservatively to avoid problems at the door. Skip halter tops and spaghetti straps. Avoid low-cut or see-through fabrics, and leave the mini skirts and mini shorts at home. Check your shirts and hats too - anything with drug, alcohol, or gang-related graphics or wording can get you denied entry.
Note: Children under 18 must be supervised at all times during visits.
Bring a photo ID. You'll need to show it at check-in before staff will let you through.
You'll also need to fill out a visitation form. No form, no visit.
Even with ID and the form done, you still have to be on the inmate’s visitation list to be approved for a visit.
Not sure if something will be allowed? Call ahead. You can reach Nacogdoches County Jail at 936-560-7783 to confirm visitation days and times or ask about your specific situation.
