Applying for Alternative Sentencing at Napa Corrections: one-week deadline, where to submit, medication rules, and honesty rules
The Classification/Alternative Sentencing questionnaire goes through the Napa County Department of Corrections (NCDC) Classification Team. Need to submit paperwork in person or confirm where they're located? The address is 2210 Napa Vallejo Highway, Napa, CA 94559.
Got questions about the questionnaire or need to follow up? The form lists two contact emails: Erline.Geske@CountyofNapa.org and Stuart.Vosburg@CountyofNapa.org.
Deadline: The questionnaire is due one week from the date it is issued.
- ✓ Email the completed application
- ✓ Mail the completed application
- ✓ Drop off the completed application in person at the jail
Dropping the application off in person? The jail accepts drop-offs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding holidays. Plan around weekends and holiday closures so you don't miss the one-week due date.
Tip: If you’re dropping it off on the due date, go earlier in the day - drop-offs are only accepted Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (excluding holidays).
If the person applying uses medical marijuana, plan for this now. The questionnaire states that medical marijuana is not allowed on Alternative Sentencing programs. Anyone accepted will need to find an alternative.
The same goes for certain controlled substances. The form states these are not allowed on Alternative Sentencing programs - if accepted, the participant will need to find an alternative.
Disqualifier: Intentionally deceptive answers about drug or alcohol use can disqualify someone from participating in the program.
This isn't the place to guess, minimize, or "clean up" a history of alcohol or drug use. Answer the questionnaire completely and accurately. Take extra care with anything related to substance use - deception in that section can cost the applicant a spot in Alternative Sentencing.
Practical Tips
- ✓ Pick a submission method early (email, mail, or in-person drop-off) so you’re not scrambling at the end of the week
- ✓ If you have questions while completing the form, use the Classification Team contacts listed: Erline.Geske@CountyofNapa.org and Stuart.Vosburg@CountyofNapa.org
- ✓ If you’re submitting by email, double-check that you’re sending to the correct address before you hit send
- ✓ If you’re submitting by mail or drop-off, keep a copy of what you submitted for your records
Don't treat the due date as a "mail it that day" deadline. The questionnaire is due one week from issuance, and in-person drop-off is only available Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (excluding holidays). If you're cutting it close, choose whatever option gets it in on time.
