Before Your First Visit: Nassau County Jail Check-In Checklist

Complete your online visitation registration before you go - and make sure it matches your ID exactly. The form requires you to upload clear photos of both the front and back of your ID. You'll also enter details like your ID number, ID type, issuing state, and expiration date. Double-check everything. Mismatched info causes delays at check-in.

  1. Reset your password if you can’t log in - Enter the email address you registered with and click send, then check your inbox for the password reset email.
  2. Resend your verification email if your account isn’t verified - Enter the email address you registered with and click send, then check your inbox for the verification email.

Bring the same government-issued ID you used during registration. Since you uploaded images of the front and back, staff will compare them to the physical card. If you received any confirmation after completing registration, bring that too - but your ID is what matters most.

  • Wear neutral colors and avoid orange clothing on facility grounds.
  • Skip green clothing on facility grounds.
  • Leave yellow clothing at home too - yellow is also prohibited on facility grounds.

Arrive at least 15 minutes early. Nassau County Jail uses strict check-in windows - miss yours, and you forfeit your visit. Visitors must also arrive no later than 1½ hours before the session ends. Cut it too close and you'll lose your spot, even if you're only a few minutes late.

  1. If you’re locked out, reset your password - Enter the email address you registered with and click send, then check your inbox for the reset email.
  2. If you never got verified, resend the verification email - Enter the email address you registered with and click send, then check your inbox for the verification email.
  3. If you’re running late, check the session timing before you leave - You need to arrive no later than 1½ hours before the close of the visiting session, and if you miss the posted check-in times you will forfeit your visit.
