Nassau County Correctional Center: Building-Specific Visiting Days, Session Times, and Check-In Rules

Visiting at Nassau County Correctional Center depends on which building your person is housed in, and check-in windows are strict. Match their housing building to the right weekday, pick a session time, and arrive within the posted check-in window — miss it, and you lose the visit.

Five visitation sessions run each day. Monday through Wednesday uses morning-to-afternoon start times, while Thursday and Friday shift to midday-to-evening sessions.

Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early. That cushion helps you get through the front-end process and still make the facility’s check-in window for your session.

Session 1 check-in runs 8:00 am to 8:30 am. Treat 8:30 am as a hard cutoff - if you're not checked in by then, you're out of luck.

Session 2 check-in is 9:15 am to 9:45 am. Arriving early is fine - just make sure you're checked in before the window closes.

The midday session check-in runs 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm. If you're squeezing in a lunch-hour visit, plan your travel around that half-hour window.

Note: If you miss the posted check-in times for your session, you forfeit that visit.

Each session gives you at least one hour of visitation. The clock starts when the incarcerated person enters the visiting room - not when you arrive at the facility.

Visits are tied to housing location. Incarcerated people can only receive visits in the building where they're housed - requests to visit someone in a different building get denied. Double-check you're planning around the correct building schedule.

No visiting on Saturdays, Sundays, or county holidays. If you're planning around a holiday week, confirm the closure before making the trip.

Attorney visit note: Public visits must be requested at least 24 hours (but no more than 5 days) in advance - same-day requests may be denied, and walk-ins aren't permitted. However, separate attorney guidance says attorneys can visit by pre-scheduling or walk-in. If you're an attorney planning to walk in, verify the current practice with the facility first.
