How Nassau County's Building-Specific Visiting Schedule Works

B and D buildings share the same visiting days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. No other days work. Before you plan anything, confirm which building your loved one is in - then build your schedule around those three weekdays.

E building runs on a different schedule - visits happen only on Tuesday and Thursday. That's it. Two days a week. Double-check the housing assignment before you block off time.

Important: You can only visit in the building where your person is housed. Request a different building and you'll be turned away.

Visiting is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and all official Nassau County holidays. So even if a weekday normally works for the building, a holiday bumps you to the next eligible day.

How Nassau County's Building-Specific Visiting Schedule Works
  1. Confirm they’re in E building - E building visiting days are Tuesday and Thursday only, so this determines your options.
  2. Cross off weekends and county holidays - visiting is closed Saturdays, Sundays, and official Nassau County holidays, even if you’re trying to plan ahead.
  3. Choose the earliest eligible weekday (Tuesday or Thursday) - if the next Tuesday is a county holiday, skip it and target Thursday (or the next Tuesday/Thursday after that).
  4. Book for the correct building - the visit must take place in E building; requests to visit them in another building will be denied.
  1. Confirm they’re in B or D building - those buildings only allow visits on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
  2. Eliminate closed days - no visiting on Saturdays, Sundays, or official Nassau County holidays.
  3. Pick your best option (Mon/Wed/Fri) - if Friday is a county holiday, aim for Wednesday; if Monday is closed for a holiday, move to Wednesday or Friday.
  4. Keep the visit in the housing building - visits must happen in the building where they’re housed; other-building requests will be denied.
  • Confirm which building they’re housed in (B, D, or E)
  • Match your day to the building schedule (B/D: Monday, Wednesday, Friday; E: Tuesday, Thursday)
  • Make sure the day isn’t a Saturday, Sunday, or official Nassau County holiday
  • Book the visit for the same building they’re housed in (other-building requests are denied)
