How many times can you visit each month at David Wade (and how many people can come)?
Planning a visit is easier when you know the two limits that matter most: how often you can go and how many people can join you. Here's how it works at David Wade Correctional Center, plus some practical ways to coordinate with family.
At David Wade, each approved visitor can visit up to two times per month. This limit applies to you individually - being on the approved visiting list is what unlocks those two visits.
Tip: Think of this as a “per approved visitor” limit. If multiple relatives are approved, you can plan who uses their two visits each month so you don’t waste a trip.
Once you're there, a group-size limit kicks in: only six visitors can be in the visiting room with an imprisoned person at any given time. If your family tends to show up together, count heads before you go - you don't want to split up at the door.
Note: The “six in the room” rule and the “two visits per month” rule work together. If your group is bigger than six, you’ll usually need to rotate who attends across the available visits.
Bringing children? Plan ahead for the paperwork. For minors under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete the visiting application and sign it on the child's behalf. Kids aren't automatic visitors - like adults, they need a properly completed application.
- ✓ Complete an Application for Visiting Privileges (Form C-02-008-A)
- ✓ Mail the completed application to the facility (faxes are not acceptable)
- ✓ For minor children, have a parent/legal guardian complete and sign the application
- List everyone who plans to visit - Remember: each approved visitor can visit up to two times per month.
- Build each visit around the six-person limit - No more than six visitors can be in the visiting room at any given time.
- Rotate attendance across the month - If more than six people want to come, decide in advance who goes on Visit #1 and who goes on Visit #2.
- If you’re stuck, ask the facility about options - When family size, travel, and schedules don’t line up, a quick call can help you understand what’s possible.
Planning reminder: Regular visiting days at David Wade are Thursday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Confirm these basics before you leave to avoid preventable scheduling problems.
