How to send messages, photos, and packages
Newport News City Jail uses Securus Technologies for phone and video communication. Set up your account through the Securus website using instructions from the Sheriff's Office. Keep in mind: all inmate phone calls are recorded and may be monitored, so don't expect privacy. For video visits, the Jail Annex offers free kiosks for friends and family. You'll need a Securus account and must schedule online. Kiosk hours run daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. At-home video visits are also available by appointment (typically 9 a.m.–9 p.m.) and require online scheduling. Bring photo ID and proof of birthdate for kiosk visits—you can be turned away for inappropriate dress. For billing or technical issues, contact Securus support directly.
