Who to Contact at NHDOC When You Have Questions (A Quick Reference Guide)
Getting answers from the New Hampshire Department of Corrections (NHDOC) is faster when you contact the right office from the start. Here's who to reach for general questions, donations, and Right-to-Know requests.
For general questions or media inquiries, contact NHDOC's Public Information Office. Email feedback@doc.nh.gov with a clear description of what you need - this helps staff route your message to the right person.
Donations
- ✓ DOC warehouse: (603) 271-1876
- ✓ Office of Financial Management: (603) 271-5607
- ✓ By state law, all donated items to NHDOC must be approved by the Governor and Executive Council.
Requesting records from NHDOC? The New Hampshire Right-to-Know Law (RSA 91-A) determines what the department can release publicly. Understanding this upfront helps you know what's available - and what's off-limits.
- ✓ Email: doc.righttoknow@doc.nh.gov
- ✓ Fax: 603-271-5602
- ✓ Mail: PO Box 1806, Concord, NH 03302
What you can (and can’t) get under RSA 91-A: NHDOC lists items like custody status, identification number, housing facility, sentencing information, jurisdiction, age, admission date, parole eligibility date, maximum release date, and specific room/job assignments as releasable. It also states some records are not publicly releasable, including patient medical or mental health information, disciplinary information, education scores, and pre-sentence investigation reports (PSIs).
Not sure where to start? Match your question to the right contact. For donations, call the DOC warehouse at (603) 271-1876 or the Office of Financial Management at (603) 271-5607. General questions and media inquiries go to feedback@doc.nh.gov. For records, submit a Right-to-Know request to doc.righttoknow@doc.nh.gov (fax and mail work too). If your question involves a specific incarcerated person, include their name and identification number - it helps staff find the right information faster.
