What to Bring (and Leave Behind) for Your Visit to Nolan County Jail

Anyone 17 or older needs a valid government-issued photo ID. Staff will check that it's current and shows your photo and date of birth. No valid ID? No visit.

Dress Code

• ✓ Tank tops
• ✓ Tube tops
• ✓ Sheer shirts or blouses
• ✓ Low-cut V-neck shirts or blouses
• ✓ Shorts or skirts that are more than 2 inches above the knee

Shorts and skirts must be no more than 2 inches above the knee. When in doubt, dress conservatively - scrambling to find new clothes is stressful, and getting turned away at the door is worse.

Travel light. The public lobby has lockers where you can secure personal items before heading into visitation.

Anything left in the lobby or your vehicle is at your own risk. The Nolan County Sheriff's Office isn't responsible for lost or stolen property.

Keep your phone and electronics put away. Cell phones and electronic devices aren't allowed during visitation - and breaking this rule can result in felony charges.

• ✓ Bring a valid, not-expired government-issued photo ID if you’re over 17 (it must show your photo and date of birth)
• ✓ Don’t wear tank tops, tube tops, sheer shirts or blouses, low-cut V-neck shirts or blouses, or shorts/skirts more than 2 inches above the knee
• ✓ Use the public lobby lockers or leave items secured in your vehicle (the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office is not responsible for items left in the lobby or vehicles)
• ✓ Don’t bring food or drinks into the lobby
• ✓ Don’t use or bring cell phones or electronic devices into visitation
• ✓ Never bring or attempt to provide contraband (including alcohol, controlled substances, weapons, cell phones, cash, or tobacco); it can lead to felony charges and arrest under Texas Penal Code 38.11 per Nolan County Jail policy
