When Can Your Loved One Make Phone Calls at NORCOR? Daily Schedule & What to Expect

At NORCOR, phones are located in all adult housing areas - your loved one won't need to be moved to a special room to make a call. Phones are on every day from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. That's your window to expect incoming calls.

Phone access is a privilege, not a guarantee. NORCOR can shut off the phones if there's a behavioral issue or a safety concern at the facility. That means some days, calls won't happen even during normal hours - especially during lockdowns or after disciplinary action.

All calls from NORCOR are collect calls placed through the TELMATE system. You can't call in and ask to be connected - the inmate phone system doesn't accept incoming calls from the public. Your loved one has to place the call during phone hours, and it will come through as collect.

  • ✓ To leave a message for an inmate through TELMATE, call 866-516-0115.
  • ✓ If you have an emergency, verified emergency messages will be delivered to the inmate by NORCOR Command Staff.
  • ✓ Don’t claim an “emergency” unless it’s real - calling in a false emergency message may cause the inmate to lose telephone privileges.

Assume regular calls aren't private. NORCOR can monitor and record conversations on the inmate phone system. Keep things focused on everyday updates - don't discuss anything you wouldn't want reviewed later.

Note: Calls with legal counsel are handled differently - if the telephone is used to talk with an attorney, NORCOR will not record or monitor that call.
