At NORCOR, video visits only happen if the adult in custody confirms the visit. If they don’t confirm (or can’t confirm at that moment), the visit won’t go through - even if everything on your side looks correct.

One frustrating-but-normal reason a call won’t reconnect right away is the tablet itself. NORCOR’s visitation tablets reboot after each failed attempt to connect. The goal is to log out the previous visitor and help ensure the best connection for the next try.

If you’re doing a free visit or an onsite/local visit, timing in the building matters. NORCOR requires visitors to be present in the jail lobby visitation area five minutes before the scheduled visit. If you arrive late (or aren’t in the lobby area in time), that alone can be enough for the visit not to connect.

• ✓ Make sure the adult in custody is available and ready to confirm the visit (visits won’t happen without their confirmation).
• ✓ If you’re doing a free visit or onsite/local visit, be in the NORCOR jail lobby visitation area at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time.

• ✓ If there’s no answer, select “VISIT NOW” again and try another attempt.
