Verified emergency messages are delivered by NORCOR Command Staff, but be warned: false "emergency" messages can result in lost phone privileges. For remote video visits, you'll need a high-speed internet computer with webcam, microphone, and speakers—or an Android device. After any free allotment, extra minutes cost $0.25 per minute.

Calls to legal counsel on the facility phone system are not recorded or monitored. Most other calls go through Telmate as collect calls, so don’t expect them to be private.
Contraband is any item jail staff don’t allow an adult in custody to have unless it’s authorized. NORCOR also notes that sexually explicit material is commonly confiscated as contraband.
NORCOR’s digital mail rules prohibit photocopies, mass-distributed pages, and computer-printed material sent through the digital mail center. If you’re sending mail, stick to standard letters through USPS and confirm the facility’s current rules before sending anything else.
Incoming mail may be processed by the facility or a vendor and opened and inspected before delivery. If it’s rejected for contraband or another reason, the sender and recipient are typically notified in writing and may be given a window to appeal.
