Bringing Children to Visit at North Central Regional Jail: Documents & Rules

Anyone under 18 needs the right adult with them to visit. A minor must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or immediate family member. The only exception: a minor who is the inmate's lawful spouse.

Here's where families often get tripped up: the child's parent or legal guardian must already be on the offender's approved visiting list before anyone else can bring that child in. And if you're applying to bring children for visits, you'll need to prove you're the child's parent or legal guardian.

Have a notarized juvenile visitation permission form ready for every visit - not just the first one. The parent or legal guardian's notarized permission slip must accompany the child each time, along with the child's birth certificate.

Dress and Behavior

• ✓ Make sure all approved children are properly dressed.
• ✓ Shorts are only allowed for summer wear if the child is under 2 years old.

1. Stay with the child when entering and leaving - a child cannot enter or exit the visiting room unless accompanied by their approved adult guardian.
2. Keep the child with you during the visit - children are not allowed to roam or wander around the visiting room or lobby unaccompanied.

Expect an administrative review process for juvenile-related visiting paperwork. Your application must include proof that you're the child's parent or legal guardian.
