At North Central Regional Jail, bringing contraband isn't just breaking a rule - it's a felony. Introducing illegal drugs, alcohol, or weapons into the facility or onto any state property will get you arrested and prosecuted. If you're unsure whether an item is allowed, don't risk it. Leave it secured somewhere else before you arrive.

North Central Regional Jail specifically prohibits purses, pocketknives, cell phones, diaper bags, and watches in the visitation area. Tobacco is also off-limits - no tobacco or tobacco-like products may be brought into WVDCR institutions, including this facility.
Don't plan on handing anything to an inmate or accepting anything from them. Visitors aren't authorized to exchange any items unless that specific item was approved before the visit.
- Check in with your ID and sign in - when you enter, adult visitors must sign the logbook and present a valid government-issued photo ID.
- Go through electronic screening - expect to pass through a magnetometer scan and x-ray machines.
- Complete a pat search if required - visitors are subject to pat searches as part of the screening process.
- Be prepared for a canine search (if available) - canine searches may be used when available.

Once you arrive, head inside - don't wait in your car. No visitor is allowed to sit in or loiter around their vehicle on NCRJ property. If you're not actively visiting an inmate, you're required to leave the premises.
