How to Submit Your Visitor Application for Northeast Oklahoma Correctional Center
Before you can visit someone at Northeast Oklahoma Correctional Center, you need approval through the Oklahoma Department of Corrections (ODOC). That process starts with the ODOC Visitor Application Form. Without an approved application on file, you won't be cleared for visitation.
You can find the ODOC Visitor Application Form on ODOC's visitation information page. Prefer paper? Request a copy and submit it by mail. ODOC requires this form for all visitors, including those visiting Northeast Oklahoma Correctional Center.
Address Mail
- ✓ Address the application to: Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Attn: Visitation Unit
- ✓ Use this mailing address: P.O. Box 11400, Oklahoma City, OK 73136-0400
- ✓ Do not address the form to the incarcerated person. It must be addressed to the Visitation Unit (not the inmate).
ODOC accepts paper visitation application forms at their headquarters in Oklahoma City. If you go this route, double-check that you've included "Attn: Visitation Unit" on the envelope. That small detail ensures your form gets routed correctly for processing.
Once ODOC receives your application, they run a background check on visitors age 18 and older. This check is part of how they decide whether to approve you. When the review is complete, the incarcerated person receives notification (not you directly).
Plan ahead. Approval can take up to eight weeks. If you're hoping to visit by a specific date, submit your application as early as possible so you're not left waiting.
You probably won't hear directly from ODOC. Their process notifies the inmate when the background check and application review are complete. Once you're approved, coordinate your actual visit through the facility's normal visitation process, using the information the inmate receives.
Common Mistakes
- ✓ Mailing the form to the inmate instead of addressing it to the ODOC Visitation Unit
- ✓ Leaving the form incomplete or skipping required fields (approval requires a submitted application, so missing information can slow everything down)
- ✓ Forgetting to use the correct P.O. Box address for the Visitation Unit in Oklahoma City
- Confirm you are past the normal wait time. ODOC notes approvals can take up to eight weeks, so use that as your benchmark.
- Re-check what you sent. Make sure you addressed it to “Attn: Visitation Unit” (not the inmate) and used P.O. Box 11400, Oklahoma City, OK 73136-0400.
- Use ODOC’s official contact options. If you are past eight weeks and you are confident the form was complete and correctly addressed, contact ODOC using the contact methods listed on their website.
