What to Wear (and Not Wear) When Visiting Northeast Regional Corr. Center

If you’re visiting someone at Northeast Regional Corr. Center (NERCC), plan your outfit before you arrive. Visitors must be appropriately attired prior to entry into the visitor’s area, and staff can refuse clothing they consider offensive or otherwise unacceptable - even if it isn’t specifically listed in the dress code.

Leave anything transparent or see-through at home. If staff can see through the fabric, you won't make it past check-in.

Halter tops, spaghetti straps, and very short clothing aren't allowed either. Not sure if something qualifies as "very short"? Change before you leave home - it's not worth getting turned away at the door.

Avoid clothing that promotes drugs or alcohol, and leave hats and bandanas at home. The facility also prohibits any clothes associated with a criminal gang, and staff may block other items they consider offensive or unacceptable.

Wear appropriate footwear. NERCC requires it, and showing up in something questionable could get you turned away.
