How Northern Neck Regional Jail's Digital Mail System Works (and What You Need to Know Before You Send)
Northern Neck Regional Jail changed how personal mail works on March 6, 2023. Since that date, all personal mail from family and friends is handled as digital mail, which changes where you send it and what your loved one actually receives.
Here's how it works: your letter arrives, gets scanned, and becomes available through the Securus system. Your loved one reads it on Securus kiosks and tablets - not the original paper you sent.
Not every housing area has the same equipment. If your loved one is in a unit without a kiosk or tablets, jail staff will print the scanned mail and hand out the printed copies to the inmate.

Warning: Don’t mail originals or anything of value to the Securus address. Accepted correspondence is destroyed once it has been scanned.
Don't include money orders in letters sent to the Securus digital-mail address. Legal mail and anything containing money orders must go directly to the jail in Warsaw. Include the inmate's name and jail jacket number: Inmate's Name and Jail Jacket# c/o Northern Neck Regional Jail, P.O. Box 1060, Warsaw, Virginia 22572.
Photos and children's drawings? You can still send those. They'll be scanned and delivered the same way - either viewed on the Securus kiosk/tablet or printed for units without that equipment.
Keep in mind: Anything that can’t be scanned will be returned to you, and originals that are accepted for scanning are destroyed after scanning.
Digital mail doesn't last forever. Northern Neck Regional Jail deletes it 60 days after an inmate's release - one more reason to keep irreplaceable originals at home.
