Three Ways to Put Money on an Inmate's Account at Northern Neck Regional Jail

Northern Neck Regional Jail accepts inmate account deposits three ways: you can add money in person at the lobby ATM, deposit online through JailATM, or send funds by mail using approved check or money order types. If you’re trying to pick the quickest option, the lobby ATM and online deposits are the most direct; mail deposits work too, but you’ll need to follow the jail’s rules about what they will (and won’t) accept.

If you want to deposit money in person, use the ATM machine located in the jail lobby. Northern Neck Regional Jail allows deposits at that lobby ATM using either cash or a credit card, and the money is deposited into the inmate’s account. The jail states this option is available during daytime hours, so plan to go during the day rather than later in the evening.

  1. Go to jailatm.com - This is the site Northern Neck Regional Jail directs families to for online deposits.
  2. Click “Sign In” (top right) - Even if you’re new, start there to begin setting up access.
  3. Create your account - Fill out the requested information and create a password.
  4. Activate your account from your email - Watch for the activation email, then click the activation link.
  5. Sign in and make your deposit - Once you’re activated, log in and complete the transaction.

You can also add funds by mail, but Northern Neck Regional Jail only accepts money orders, cashier’s checks, or certified checks for this. Make the check or money order payable to the inmate so it can be deposited into their inmate fund account. Don’t mail cash - any cash the jail receives in the mail will be returned to you, and it will be returned at your expense.

One account only: You're not allowed to fund more than one inmate's account. If the jail catches you depositing to multiple inmates, they may freeze those accounts.
