Setting Up a GettingOut.com Account to Message or Video Visit Someone at NNCC
Want to message or video visit someone at Northern Nevada Correctional Center (NNCC)? You'll need a GettingOut.com account. Here's how to set one up, add your contact, and start communicating.
GettingOut.com is how you communicate with NDOC offenders at NNCC - text messages, photos, 30-second video clips, and video visits all run through this platform. Before you can use any of these features, you'll need to create an account and add the person you want to contact as a connection.
Warning: All messages, photos, videos, and video visits through GettingOut.com are subject to monitoring and recording.
- Go to GettingOut.com - Open your browser and go to gettingout.com.
- Open the login screen - Click the Login link in the upper right of the page.
- Start a new account - Click the “Create one here” button.
- Complete registration - Fill out the registration form with your information.
- Activate your account - Check your email and follow the activation link/instructions to finish setting up your account.
- Search for the offender - Use the search tool to look them up.
- Match the details carefully - Search results show the offender’s name, booking number, booking date, and date of birth. Use those fields to make sure you’re choosing the right person.
- Add them as your contact - Click the green plus symbol next to the correct match to add them.
Once the offender accepts your connection invitation, they'll show up on your GettingOut.com home screen. From there, you can deposit funds, send messages, or schedule a video visit. Don't see those options yet? That usually means they haven't accepted the invitation on their end.
Attorneys who need private (non-recorded) communication have an extra step. Set up your GettingOut.com account like any other user first. Then email ViapathNVTechs@viapath.com to request an exception for non-recorded video visits and phone calls. Include your name, address, the phone number(s) you want private calls on, and your BAR number for validation.
Note: There are no exceptions for private messaging - messages remain monitored and recorded. If granted, the attorney exception applies only to non-recorded video visits and phone calls.
Can't deposit funds, message, or schedule a video visit after adding your contact? First, check whether they've accepted the connection invitation - those options only appear after acceptance. For technical issues with your account, click the Help Center link at the top of your GettingOut.com account page.
