Three Ways to Send Money to Someone at Northern Nevada Correctional Center
Sending money to someone at Northern Nevada Correctional Center? You have three options through the Nevada Department of Corrections: mail a Lockbox Deposit Coupon with a money order or cashier's check, or use Access Corrections to deposit online or by phone.
NDOC offers three ways to send funds to someone at Northern Nevada Correctional Center. The first is mailing a Lockbox Deposit Coupon with a cashier's check or money order. The other two go through Access Corrections: deposit online or call to complete the transaction by phone. Both card-based options accept MasterCard or Visa. Using the Lockbox method? The coupon is required. NDOC says you must print it from their website or get it directly from the person you're sending money to. The incarcerated person is responsible for sharing coupons with anyone who wants to send them funds.
Note: NDOC does not take responsibility for any claims made by someone requesting that you send them money.
- Get a Lockbox Deposit Coupon: Print it from the NDOC site or get one from the offender. The offender is responsible for sending coupons to people who want to deposit money.
- Fill out the coupon: Complete the coupon information before you send anything.
- Buy a money order or cashier’s check: NDOC’s Lockbox method uses a cashier’s check or money order.
- Mail it using NDOC’s Lockbox instructions: Send the completed coupon along with the money order or cashier’s check.
Once money reaches an account, NDOC may deduct a portion as authorized by Nevada Revised Statutes. If you're budgeting for commissary or other expenses, the full amount you send may not be the final amount available.
Money orders and cashier's checks sent directly to NDOC won't be available right away. Because of counterfeit concerns, NDOC holds these funds for fourteen calendar days from receipt before the person can access them.
Prefer to pay by card? NDOC accepts deposits through Access Corrections using a MasterCard or Visa (credit or debit). You can deposit online or call Access Corrections to complete it by phone. Either way, you're sending money electronically instead of mailing a check or money order.
Safety tip: If you don't already know the person, be cautious about requests for money for release, restitution, or other claimed expenses. NDOC does not require payment of any fees for release, and there are no set schedules for restitution payments. NDOC also takes no responsibility for claims made by incarcerated individuals requesting funds.
