OCCC Visits: How to Schedule, What to Expect (30-minute non-contact visits), and a Pre-Visit Checklist
Visiting someone at Oahu Community Correctional Center (OCCC) requires planning ahead. You'll book by phone during a specific weekday window, arrive early to check in, and get a 30-minute non-contact visit. Here's what you need to know to avoid surprises.
OCCC offers visitation Monday through Sunday, 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM, except State holidays. But here's the catch: visits are organized into set blocks by housing group. Your actual visiting time depends on where the person you're visiting is housed.
General Population at the main facility has two time options: a morning block from 7:30–10:00 and a shorter slot from 11:00–11:30. If your person is in General Population, these are your windows.
Two other main-facility slots serve specific housing areas: Module 8 (Maximum Unit) runs 11:30–12:00, and Module 7 is scheduled 12:00–12:30. These windows are short. Plan to arrive early and be ready to check in right away.
Schedule your visit by calling (808) 832-1633 Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Have the incarcerated person's name ready, along with a couple of preferred visit days and times - visits run in set blocks, so flexibility helps.
Arrive and check in at least 15 minutes before your scheduled visit. The facility's notice doesn't detail the exact check-in location or process, but the timing requirement is firm. Cut it close, and you risk losing your slot.
Note: OCCC's visitation notice doesn't list ID requirements or a dress code. Don't assume - call the scheduling number if you have questions about what to bring or wear.
Visits last 30 minutes and are non-contact. Expect a physical barrier between you and the person you're visiting - no hugging or hand-holding. Come ready to make the most of your conversation time.
Good to know: OCCC sanitizes visitation areas between sessions. With only 30 minutes, arrive prepared so you're not spending visit time sorting out logistics.
- ✓ Plan for a 30-minute, non-contact visit, and decide ahead of time what you want to cover so the time doesn’t disappear
- ✓ If you’re bringing a child, set expectations beforehand (short visit, no physical contact)
- ✓ Keep your group to two people total, including children, so you don’t get stuck choosing at the door
- ✓ Aim to be settled and ready to check in at least 15 minutes early so your full slot isn’t squeezed
OCCC allows one visit per inmate per week. If multiple people want to visit, coordinate ahead of time so you don't accidentally use up the weekly slot.
Only two visitors - including children - are allowed at a time. This limit adds up fast for families. If you have multiple kids or adults who want to come, decide in advance who visits this week and who waits for the next.
Need to confirm your visit or change plans? Call (808) 832-1633. Scheduling happens Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM - that's your window to set, adjust, or verify a visit.
