What to Expect If You're Called for Jury Duty in Obion County
A jury summons brings questions fast—how were you selected, what's the pay, and what rules apply in court? Here's what Obion County says you can expect.
In Obion County, jurors are chosen at random from a computerized jury pool. That pool is made up of Tennessee Department of Safety licensed Obion County drivers, so if you’re a licensed driver in the county, you may be included in the selection process.
Obion County pays jurors $11 per day of service. If you're juggling work or family responsibilities, that's the base pay to expect for each day you show up.
Cell phones, laptops, and other communication devices aren't allowed during a trial. Plan ahead - anything you'd normally use to text, email, browse, record, or communicate is off-limits once court is in session.
Note: This rule is enforced while court is underway, so leave devices behind or powered off.
