Contact Visits at Ocean County Jail: who qualifies and how to request one
Contact visits are straightforward once you know the schedule, visitor limits, and what to submit ahead of time. Here's Ocean County Jail's contact visit schedule, the special Sunday rule, how to request a visit, and the dress code that could get you turned away.
Ocean County Jail holds contact visitation on Fridays from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM and again from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Saturday visits run from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Sunday rule: Sunday contact visits (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM) are only available to incarcerated people who qualify as a primary caregiver.
Contact visits are scheduled in 30-minute intervals, but the actual visit lasts 15 minutes. The remaining time allows a correctional officer to search the incarcerated person between visits.
Keep your group small. Ocean County Jail allows a maximum of two adult visitors per contact visit.
Each contact visit is limited to two adult visitors. If more than two adults want to come, you'll need to take turns in separate time slots rather than arriving together.
- ✓ List every visitor’s full name on the request form
- ✓ Include each visitor’s date of birth
- ✓ Include each visitor’s Social Security number
- Pick the visit date you are aiming for. Start early so you have enough time to meet the submission deadline.
- Submit the request to the classification unit at least 14 days in advance. The request has to be received by classification at least 14 days before the requested visit date.
Cancellation deadline: If you need to cancel, submit the cancellation by 12:00 PM on the Wednesday before the requested visit.
