How to set up HomeWAV for video visits with someone at Okaloosa County Jail
Okaloosa County Jail uses HomeWAV for remote video visits. Once you're set up and approved, you can connect from home through the HomeWAV website or mobile app.
Okaloosa County recently switched from Securus to HomeWAV for inmate communications. If you used a different system before, that's why you'll need to create a new HomeWAV account for video visits.
HomeWAV handles most communication in one place: video calls, voice calls, and messaging. You can also manage your account, add funds, schedule on-site visits, and get notifications when your loved one is available to connect.
Good to know: Once approved, you'll get a notification whenever your loved one logs into a HomeWAV kiosk or tablet. When you open the app, they can see you're available - and may start a video call right then.
You can sign up two ways: create an account on the HomeWAV website, or download the free HomeWAV app and register there. Either works. Just use the same account going forward so your settings and access stay in one place.
Expect an approval step before you can use the system fully. After approval, you'll get notified whenever your loved one logs into a HomeWAV kiosk or tablet - making it easier to catch them when they're available.
At Okaloosa County Jail, remote visitations on inmate tablets are available seven days a week, including holidays, from 7:00 am to 9:55 pm.
