After November 12, 2024, mail all personal correspondence (including letters and photos) to the contracted scanning vendor’s Phoenix, MD address. If you send it to the facility address instead, it will be returned to you with the reason listed.
Photos and greeting cards that include nudity, sexual gestures, drug use, social-media images, or other prohibited content may be removed or cause the entire scanned file to be rejected. If it violates NDCS or vendor policy, it won’t be delivered.
If you use non-black/blue ink, very light ink, colored paper, watermarks, or background print, your mail may scan poorly and become unreadable. If any part violates NDCS or vendor policy, the scanned file won’t be delivered and the incarcerated person will get written notice; any funds included with the mail are returned to the sender.
