How to Get Approved for Visitation at Omega: Application Steps for Families
Getting approved to visit at Omega is a paperwork-first process. Show up without being on the approved list, and you'll be turned away—even if you traveled from out of state.
Omega uses a pre-approval system. You can't just show up and expect to get in. Every visitor - including out-of-state family members - has to be on the resident's approved visitation list before arriving. The process starts with your loved one: they're responsible for sending visitation applications to the people they want to see. Omega reviews each completed application before granting approval.
Your loved one has to start the process. They do this by sending a visitation application to each person they want to visit. Planning your first trip? Step one is simple: make sure your loved one has requested and mailed you the application. The facility puts that responsibility on the resident, not you.
Once you've filled out the application, send it back to Omega for approval. Until that approval comes through, you're not an authorized visitor. The facility's published guidance doesn't specify the exact submission method or timeline, so before you mail anything or make travel plans, confirm with your loved one (or through the Arkansas DOC) where the completed application should go and how long approvals are taking.
Everyone needs prior approval. There's no special exception for family, and no exception for out-of-state visitors. If you're not on the approved list, you won't get in. Surprise visits are risky. Get your application in early and confirm your approval before you book time off work, arrange childcare, or start a long drive.
IDs and Docs
- ✓ A driver’s license and/or a birth certificate to present upon arrival
- ✓ If the visitor is under 18: permission from a parent or legal guardian
- ✓ If you’re bringing a child age 6 or under: a parent/guardian must accompany them
Note: Bring the ID documents Omega requires (a driver’s license and/or birth certificate), and don’t leave minor permission paperwork to chance - have parent/legal guardian permission ready if the visitor is under 18.
Omega limits the visitation room to five visitors at a time - and that includes children. If you're traveling with a group, plan ahead so you don't arrive with more people than allowed. Easy to overlook when you're counting adults but bringing kids along too.
- ✓ Bring no more than $10 for the vending machine
- Have the resident send you the application - At Omega, the resident is responsible for sending visitation applications to each person they want to visit.
- Return the completed application to Omega for approval - Your paperwork must be sent back to the facility so you can be approved and placed on the visitation list.
- Confirm you’re on the approved visitation list before you travel - All visitors need prior approval, including out-of-state family.
- Pack the ID documents you’ll need at check-in - Bring a driver’s license and/or a birth certificate to present upon arrival.
- If a minor is visiting, bring parent/legal guardian permission - Visitors under 18 need permission from a parent or legal guardian.
- Follow the child accompaniment rule - Children age 6 and under must be with a parent/guardian.
- Keep your group size within the room limit - No more than five visitors (including children) are allowed in the visitation room at one time.
- Bring small vending money only - Visitors may bring no more than $10 for the vending machine.
Reminder: Because the submission method and approval timeline aren’t spelled out here, confirm the correct place to send the application - and when you’ll be considered approved - with the resident or the Arkansas DOC before you make the trip.
