What to Bring (and What to Leave Home) for Omega Visitation

Bring ID - original documents only. Omega accepts a driver's license and/or birth certificate, but photos or copies won't work. If you're bringing a minor, pack their birth certificate too since it's one of the accepted forms of ID.

Dress conservatively. Omega doesn't allow provocative clothing, and shoulders must be covered - no strapless tops or spaghetti straps. When in doubt, go more modest. Getting turned away for an outfit isn't worth it.

Keep things calm and respectful once you’re inside. Follow staff instructions the first time, speak quietly, and focus on making the most of the time you have. If something feels unclear, ask before you act - small misunderstandings can end a visit early.

Planning to use the vending machine? Bring $10 or less. That's Omega's limit for vending purchases during visitation, so leave extra cash at home or locked in your car.

Don't bring food for the resident. Omega doesn't allow it - not homemade, not store-bought, not even sealed packages.

Prohibited Items

  • Outside food
  • Alcohol
  • Firearms
  • Narcotics
  • Any materials of any kind that may compromise the safety/security of the center

Bringing someone under 18? Plan ahead. Omega requires minors to have permission from a parent or legal guardian, so sort this out before you arrive.

Kids six and under must have a parent or guardian with them the entire visit. If you're coordinating rides or meeting family there, make sure the right adult will be present the whole time.

Count heads before you go. Omega allows no more than five visitors in the visitation room at one time, and that total includes minor children. If you’re coming with a group, decide in advance who is going in, especially if you’re bringing multiple kids.

Physical contact is limited. Omega allows a brief embrace when you arrive and another when the visit ends.
