What to Bring (and What to Leave Home) for Omega Visitation
A smooth visit at Omega comes down to small details: the right ID, the right clothing, and only the items the rules allow. Use the checklist below so you're not turned away at the door.
IDs Docs
- ✓ Driver’s license (bring the original)
- ✓ Birth certificate (bring the original if you are using this instead of, or in addition to, a driver’s license)
The process starts with the resident, not you. Each resident sends visitation applications to the people they want to see. You'll complete the application and send it back to Omega. Visits can only happen after Omega approves it.
What you wear matters. Provocative clothing is not allowed, and your shoulders must be covered the entire visit. If you're unsure about an outfit, go with something more conservative. Losing a visit over a dress code violation isn't worth it.
Quick comfort: Omega allows a brief embrace when you arrive and another when the visit ends.
Visitation Items
- ✓ Up to $10 total for the vending machine (do not bring more than this)
- ✓ Do not bring food for the resident
Outside food is not allowed on the property, and you cannot bring food to a resident. Alcohol, firearms, narcotics, and anything else that could compromise safety or security are also prohibited on Omega property. If you're unsure about a specific item, leave it at home or in your vehicle. Bring only what you truly need.
Kids can visit, but there are permission rules. Anyone under 18 needs permission from a parent or legal guardian. Get that sorted before you make the trip so you're not stopped at check-in.
Bringing young children? Plan for hands-on supervision. Children age six and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during visits. Keep group size in mind, too: Omega allows no more than five visitors in the visitation room at one time, and that total includes minor children.
- Pack your ID documents. Bring a driver’s license and/or a birth certificate to show upon arrival.
- Bring only vending money you are allowed. If you plan to use the vending machine, keep it to $10 or less.
- Dress to meet the dress code. Skip anything provocative and keep your shoulders covered the whole time you are visiting.
Plan ahead: Omega visitation is limited to the last two weekends of the resident's stay. You must be approved through the visitation application process before you can visit.
