What to Wear and What to Expect at the Entrance Search for a Visit to Orange Correctional Center

If you're visiting Orange Correctional Center and you're 16 or older, you'll be searched before entering. This is a routine safety measure designed to reduce contraband, and the facility uses the least intrusive methods available.

Visitors 16 and older go through a pat/frisk search plus a screening by electronic device before entering the facility. This all happens at the entrance, so budget a few extra minutes even if you show up on time.

These searches exist to keep contraband out of the facility. They're also required to use the least intrusive means possible, so the process is designed to screen you without being more invasive than necessary.

1. Leave prohibited electronics behind - Do not bring cell phones, smartwatches, cameras, recording devices, or smart/AI glasses onto prison property for your visit.
2. Dress to clear the dress code - Wear a shirt and shoes, and avoid prohibited tops and any see-through fabric.
3. Prepare for screening at the door - All visitors must clear a metal detector before entry.
4. If you are 16 or older, expect a pat/frisk and electronic-device search - This is part of the standard entrance procedure.
5. Follow every search instruction - Refusing any part of the search process means you will be denied entrance.
