How to Send Money to Someone at Orange County Jail (addresses, online, phone, and lobby)
Money in someone's jail account covers commissary purchases, medical services, and other fees. First time sending funds? The most common mistake is missing or mismatched information. Before you start, gather the exact details the jail uses to match your deposit to the right person.
- ✓ Inmate’s full name (make sure it matches what the jail has on file)
- ✓ Inmate’s jail/booking number (required)
- ✓ Sender’s name and return address on the deposit item (required, except government checks)
Mail works well if you're sending a money order and don't need same-day posting. The key rule: make the money order payable to the inmate and include their booking number so the Fiscal Department can apply it correctly. One important note - don't slip cash, checks, or money orders into regular inmate mail. Money orders must go separately to the Corrections Facility deposit address.

Deposits typically post within 48 hours. If you're past that window and the funds still aren't showing, double-check that you entered the inmate's name and booking number exactly as required. For mailed deposits, confirm you included your sender name and address. Missing or incorrect details can cause delays - the jail needs that information to match the deposit to the right account.
