Video visits at Orange County Jail are straightforward if you plan around the limits and show up prepared. These rules decide whether you get in or get turned away.

Each inmate gets three video visits per week. If multiple family members want to visit, plan those sessions carefully so you don't run out of visits before everyone has a chance to connect.

The Video Visitation Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The last session starts at 9 p.m., so even a late-night visit needs to be on the schedule before that cutoff.

Each inmate can have up to three visitors per video session, but no more than two can be adults. If three people are attending, at least one must be a child. Bringing a larger group? Decide ahead of time who will attend so you don't lose the visit at check-in.

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid passport
  • Valid state ID
  • Valid military ID
  1. Treat your appointment time as the cutoff. If you arrive after the start of your scheduled session, you will not be allowed to visit.
  2. Get there at least 15 minutes early. This gives you time to check in without risking a late arrival.

Note: Once you leave the Visitation Center for any reason, you won't be allowed back in.

Warning: If you appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, you'll be denied entry.

All video visits are monitored and may be recorded. Assume staff can hear and see everything, and keep your conversation appropriate.

Quick Checklist

  • Do not arrive after your scheduled session starts. Late arrivals are not admitted.
  • Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early so you can check in on time.
  • Bring a valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, state ID, or military ID).
  • Do not come in if you appear under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Keep your group within the limit: up to three visitors total, with no more than two adults.

Tip: Plan around the schedule (open daily 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., last session at 9 p.m.) and the weekly limit of three video visits per inmate.
