First, create a visitor account with ICSolutions. OSCI uses this platform for both in-person and video visits for general population. Once your account is set up, you can pick a date and time, then submit your visit request.
When choosing a time slot, work around OSCI's in-person visiting hours: Monday through Friday, plus Sunday and holidays, from 10:45 AM to 8:00 PM. Each visit maxes out at three hours, so pick a start time that fits within that window. Don't wait until the last minute. Visits must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance. For longer-term planning, general population residents can have up to three in-person visits per week. If you're trying to fit multiple visits into one week, that limit affects which days you can choose.
Note: The visiting room is closed daily from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Avoid booking a visit time that would run into that closure.
Time your arrival carefully. OSCI won't let visitors into the lobby until ten minutes before the scheduled start, so showing up extremely early won't get you inside any faster. Park only in designated visitor parking areas. This way you can head straight to the entrance without needing to move your car.
Keep visit limits in mind when scheduling. General population residents can have up to three in-person visits per week, but only one per day. If you're coordinating with other family members, that one-visit-per-day rule can mean the difference between getting a slot and being turned away.
