Video Visit Dress Code and Conduct Rules at Pierce County Jail
Video visits at Pierce County Jail are monitored in real time, and staff enforce the rules as they watch. Dress conservatively, keep appropriate behavior on camera, and avoid anything the jail considers prohibited conduct—otherwise your visit could end early.
Staff monitor all video visits for rule compliance and can end your session immediately. Clothing is one of the quickest ways to get disconnected - wear anything sexually suggestive or inappropriate, and they'll terminate the call.
- ✓ Clothing that exposes an undue amount of flesh on the chest
- ✓ Clothing that exposes an undue amount of flesh on the back
- ✓ Clothing that exposes an undue amount of flesh on the thigh
- ✓ Clothing that exposes an undue amount of flesh on the midsection
Nudity is prohibited during video visits. So is any sexual behavior - even if you're connecting from home and think no one's watching. They are.
- ✓ Driving a motor vehicle during the video visit
- ✓ Using or displaying weapons, drugs, alcohol, or related paraphernalia
- ✓ Using gang signs or displaying graphics/paraphernalia associated with a Security Threat Group
- ✓ Recording or filming the visit or any visit participants (by the visitor or any third party)
Warning: Do not record or film the video visit (and don’t let anyone else record it either). Recording/filming the visit or participants is prohibited.
Staff can see what's happening on camera and respond quickly if something violates policy. Treat the visit like you're in a supervised public space - because you are.
Break the rules and you could lose visiting privileges for six months. The Pierce County Sheriff's Department can also restrict visitation indefinitely, so repeated or serious violations may affect your ability to video visit long-term.
- Dress for a jail setting - If your outfit exposes an undue amount of flesh on your chest, back, thigh, or midsection, staff may treat it as sexually suggestive.
- Keep everything non-sexual - Nudity and behavior or actions that are sexual in nature are prohibited.
- Adjust before you connect - Sit, stand, and check the camera angle so you’re not accidentally showing more chest, back, thigh, or midsection than you intended.
- ✓ Don’t use or display weapons, drugs, alcohol, or related paraphernalia
- ✓ Avoid gang signs and any Security Threat Group-related graphics/paraphernalia
- ✓ Do not record or film the visit, and don’t allow any third party to record it
- ✓ If kids are joining, plan for supervision so the visit stays appropriate and compliant
- ✓ Remember the participant rules: on-site (jail kiosk) sessions allow a maximum of 3 people (including children); for remote visits there’s no limit, but the scheduling visitor must remain present for the duration
Note: On-site (jail kiosk) video sessions allow up to three people total, including children. For remote visits there’s no limit on participants, but the person who scheduled the visit must stay present for the entire call.
