Attorneys: How to Send Legal Mail and Visit Clients at Pinellas County Jail
Send physical legal mail to: 14400 49th St. N, Clearwater, FL 33762. Write "LEGAL MAIL" on the envelope and include your client's full name and ID number to ensure proper routing.
Attorneys can also send legal correspondence electronically through SmartInmate. You'll need to register an account first - have your government-issued ID and Bar Card ready, since both are required for professional/privileged access approval.
Once approved, you can send privileged messages and transmit documents to your client electronically. The same SmartInmate platform handles remote professional visits, so you'll use one system for both privileged messaging and scheduling video sessions.
- ✓ Register separately for each inmate you want to communicate with through SmartInmate.
In-person attorney visits are available Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Florida attorneys visiting during these hours don't need prior approval - just show up.
- ✓ Florida driver license
- ✓ Valid Florida Bar card
Out-of-state attorneys or visits outside regular hours require advance approval from the division commander. Email your request to pcj_visitationrequests@pcsonet.com before each visit.
