Video Visit Rules That Can Get You Banned from Pitt County Detention Center

Every video visit at Pitt County Detention Center is monitored and may be recorded. Treat the entire call like you're on camera - because you are. Don't attempt to capture or record the visit in any way.

Dress Code

• ✓ Wear undergarments under your clothing during the visit.
• ✓ If you wear shorts, they must be no shorter than mid-thigh.
• ✓ Avoid shorts or clothing that are provocative or extremely tight.

Keep things calm. Loud talking, excessive emotionalism, or other disruptive behavior isn't allowed during video visits. Push the conversation into disruptive territory and your visit can end early.

The detention center can deny video visits if they determine a visitor poses a clear and present danger to facility security or safety. This isn't about missing a rule - it's a judgment call by the facility.

1. A Captain recommends a permanent denial - the restriction has to be recommended at the Captain level.
2. The Jail Administrator approves it - a permanent denial requires approval by the Jail Administrator.
3. You’re notified by letter - the facility sends the visitor a letter about the permanent visitation restriction.
