Visiting a Youth at Placer Juvenile Detention: Hours, Rules, and How to Send Mail
Visits and mail at Placer Juvenile Detention go smoothly once you know the schedule, who's allowed in, what to bring, and how to address an envelope.
Only certain people are approved to visit a youth at Placer County Juvenile Detention. That includes parents or legal guardians, the youth's attorney of record, court-approved persons, and religious professionals.
Only two visitors are allowed at a time, and the youth can receive up to two hours of visits per week. That limit can change depending on the youth's specific situation.
Call at least 24 hours before your visit to confirm the youth's housing assignment. The number is 530-886-4875.
Visiting hours depend on where the youth is housed. General Housing visits are Saturday from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Maximum Security visits are Sunday from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Knowing the housing assignment ahead of time saves you a wasted trip.
