How to Add an Inmate to Your Visitation Profile (Lucile Plane State Jail)
Before you can schedule a visit at Lucile Plane State Jail, you need to add the inmate to your profile in the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler. Here's how to do it.
You'll need your own account in the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler before you can add an inmate or schedule anything. TDCJ staff can't create one for you - visitors have to set up their own accounts. Once your account exists, staff can help if you need to update details like your name or address.
To add someone, you'll need their TDCJ number or SID number - exactly 8 digits. Don't know it? Use the TDCJ Offender Search on the TDCJ website to look it up. If your search isn't returning results, double-check that you're entering the full 8-digit ID. One missing digit will prevent a match.
- Log in to your visitor profile - start from your own profile page in the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler.
- Click “Add Inmate” - this opens the inmate search pop-up.
- Choose how you want to search - select either TDCJ number or SID number.
- Enter the exact 8-digit number - the scheduler only accepts an 8-digit TDCJ/SID number.
- Submit the request - follow the prompts to send your request for approval after you’ve located the correct inmate.
Note: TDCJ staff can’t create your visitor account for you. Once your account is created, they can assist with updating information such as your name or address.
After you submit your request, there's a waiting period while your relationship to the inmate gets reviewed. During this time, you'll see them listed under a "pending" section rather than as an approved connection. Once approved, the inmate appears as a verified relationship in your profile - and you can start scheduling visits.
Troubleshoot Schedule
- ✓ If the “Schedule Visit” option is missing, the relationship request may still be pending approval.
- ✓ If you see a message like “Call Unit” instead of a scheduling option, contact the unit for next steps.
- ✓ If you previously scheduled visits but can’t anymore, visitation privileges can be removed - calling the unit is the fastest way to clarify what’s going on.
Can't find the inmate when you try to add them? Go back to the TDCJ Offender Search and confirm you have the correct TDCJ or SID number. The scheduler requires that exact 8-digit number, so double-check what you typed before trying again.
