How to Send Money to an Inmate at Lucile Plane State Jail (and Who's Allowed to Send It)
You can add money to an inmate's Trust Fund at Lucile Plane State Jail by sending a money order or cashier's check. These are the accepted paper deposit options.
ACH is another option - it's listed as a Monthly Checking Account Debit. You'll set up an ACH Authorization that lets funds transfer directly from your checking account instead of mailing a payment.
- ✓ Access Corrections (Secure Deposits)
- ✓ ACE (America’s Cash Express)
- ✓ eCommDirect (Texas.gov)
- ✓ JPay TouchPay Payment System
Before sending anything, confirm you're eligible. As of September 1, 2020, only people on the inmate's approved visitor list or Inmate Telephone List can make deposits. If you're not on one of those lists, your deposit will be rejected.
- Ask the inmate if you’re on their approved visitor list - this is one of the two lists that can qualify you to deposit money.
- Ask the inmate to check their Inmate Telephone List - if you’re listed there, you’re also allowed to deposit.
- Confirm your status before you pay - if you’re not on either list yet, get that fixed first so your deposit doesn’t get rejected.
Warning: Don’t send cash or personal checks for Trust Fund deposits. They aren’t accepted, and they will be returned to the sender.
Even after your deposit is accepted, the inmate may not have immediate access. Any single deposit of $500.00 or more is held for 14 days before the funds become available.
Certain check types also trigger a delay. Insurance checks, payroll checks, company checks, estate checks, and similar disbursements are held for 14 days before the inmate can access them.
A common mistake: sending the deposit directly to the facility. Don't do this. Trust Fund deposits should not go to the unit where the inmate is housed.
Keep your deposit separate from personal mail. Don't include letters, photos, or other items - send only what belongs with the deposit.
Need to confirm your deposit arrived? Inmate Trust Fund staff can answer questions about receipt. However, they cannot share account balances or activity with anyone except the inmate.
- Confirm you’re eligible to send money - you must be on the inmate’s approved visitor list or the Inmate Telephone List.
- Pick an approved deposit method - use a money order/cashier’s check, ACH (Monthly Checking Account Debit) through the ACH Authorization process, or one of the approved vendor options.
- Follow up the right way if you’re worried it didn’t post - Trust Fund staff can confirm whether a deposit was received, but only the inmate can get balance or account-activity details.
