TDCJ Digital Mail: Where to Send Letters & Photos for Someone at Lucile Plane State Jail

Since September 6, 2023, all TDCJ units - including Lucile Plane State Jail - use a digital mail system. Personal letters, greeting cards, and photos now go to a central Digital Mail Processing Center. Staff there sort and scan everything, then upload it to the incarcerated person's secure tablet.

For personal mail - letters, greeting cards, and photos - address your envelope to the Digital Mail Processing Center: Texas Department of Criminal Justice Inmate's Full First and Last Name + TDCJ Number PO Box 660400 Dallas, TX 75266-0400 Including the full name and TDCJ number ensures the mail gets routed correctly after processing.

Sending something that falls into one of the exceptions above? Skip the Digital Mail Processing Center. Mail those items directly to the Lucile Plane State Jail unit address instead.

1. Confirm what you’re sending - Personal letters, greeting cards, and photos go through digital mail; legal mail, media mail, and books/magazines/packages/subscriptions from verified publishers are exceptions.
2. If it’s personal mail, address it to the processing center - Use the inmate’s full first and last name plus their TDCJ number, and send it to PO Box 660400, Dallas, TX 75266-0400.
3. If it’s an exception, mail it to the unit - Send those items directly to Lucile Plane State Jail (not the Digital Mail Processing Center).
