Setting Up a Securus Account Before Pleasant Valley's March Transition — A Short Checklist
Pleasant Valley State Prison switches to Securus phone service on 3/16, with tablets following 3/17–3/20. Set up your account now and you'll be ready to register for video and add funds before the transition - no last-minute scrambling required.
Heads up: CDCR warns there may be intermittent outages during the transition. After Pleasant Valley switches over, you'll use Securus going forward. But if your loved one transfers to a facility that hasn't transitioned yet, you may need to use ViaPath there.
- Create your Securus account - Open an account through the Securus website or the Securus mobile app.
- Finish the basic setup - Complete your profile so you’re ready when CDCR services go live at Pleasant Valley.
Step2 Video Register
- ✓ In the Securus app, open Video Connect.
- ✓ Register and make sure you select “Permitir videollamadas” (Allow video calls) so video calls can be received on your account.

Troubleshoot Checks
- ✓ Confirm your Securus account is set up before Pleasant Valley’s phone transition on 3/16.
- ✓ If you’ll be using prepaid video, confirm AdvanceConnect is set up and funded.
- ✓ Confirm you registered in Video Connect (including selecting “Permitir videollamadas”) before the tablet transition window 3/17–3/20.
- ✓ Expect possible intermittent outages during the rollout window and plan for some hiccups.
After the switch: You'll use Securus for Pleasant Valley going forward. If your loved one transfers to a facility that hasn't transitioned, you may need to switch back to ViaPath there.
