How to Send Mail to Someone at Pocatello Women's Correctional Center
Use the mailing address listed on PWCC's individual facility page, not the general Idaho Department of Correction Boise PO Box format used for some other facilities. Double-check that address and copy it exactly as shown. Even small errors can delay your letter or get it sent back.
PWCC residents can receive personal letters through the mail. Packages are not accepted, so stick to standard letter mail.
Photos are allowed with some limits. No Polaroids, and no photos showing nudity. Either of these can get your entire mailing rejected.
Every personal letter is opened and searched before it reaches the resident. This is standard contraband screening, so only include items you know are permitted.
What happens if something isn’t allowed: Unacceptable items found in the mail can be returned to you as the sender or turned over to the proper authorities.
Residents with funds can buy envelopes and postage through the facility commissary. Outside stamps and stationery are not accepted, so mailing in extra supplies will not help.
- ✓ If a PWCC resident is indigent (does not have funds), the facility provides stationery and postage for one personal letter per week.
