How to Schedule Your First Securus Video Visit with Polk County Jail (Central & South County)

How often can you visit? The jail's information is inconsistent. One statement says inmates are allowed Anywhere visits twice per week. Another says most inmates can have video visits every day, including holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving. Because these conflict, treat "twice per week" as the baseline and verify the current frequency for your person's housing situation before building your schedule around it.
Pricing is simple: $10.00 per session for 20 minutes. You're paying per visit, not per minute - so be ready to start on time and make the most of the call.
- Create your Securus account - use your legal name exactly as it appears on your government-issued photo ID.
- Upload your verification photos - during setup, you’ll upload a copy of your photo ID and a photo of yourself (a selfie).
- Wait for approval before you try to book - approval can take up to 48 hours, and you’ll get an approval or denial by email or text.
Note: If your Securus account name doesn't match your photo ID, approval can get stuck. Set up your account early - Polk County Jail approvals may take up to 48 hours.
Once approved, you can schedule your remote visit through Securus on a computer or phone. On desktop, go to securustech.net and choose the "Real Life. Share." box, or navigate through Solutions → Video Products → "Schedule a remote visit." On mobile, download the blue-and-white "Securus" app from your app store and create your account there.
Scheduling and changes have strict deadlines. All visit creations, changes, and cancellations require 24-hour notice and must be completed by 6:00 p.m. the day before your scheduled visit. Need to modify an existing booking? Call the facility directly.
