Your loved one's visitation day depends on the first letter of their last name. The jail assigns each inmate one specific weekday based on an A–Z grouping. Find the letter, find the day - that's the only weekday you can visit.

  • Monday: Last name starts with A–D
  • Tuesday: Last name starts with E–J
  • Wednesday: Last name starts with K–N
  • Thursday: Last name starts with O–R
  • Friday: Last name starts with S–Z

Morning visits run 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Monday through Friday. Your visit needs to fall on the specific weekday assigned to your loved one's last-name group.

Evening visits are 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM, Monday through Friday. No weekend hours are listed, so plan around weekdays only.

The jail allows two 20-minute in-person, non-contact visits per calendar week (Sunday through Saturday). Here's the catch: your loved one only has one assigned visitation day per week. If you want to use both visits, you'll likely be doing them on that same weekday - one in the morning, one in the evening.

  1. Match the last-name letter to the weekday - Use the A–D / E–J / K–N / O–R / S–Z rotation to find the one day your loved one is scheduled.
  2. Pick your two visits for the Sunday–Saturday week - Each inmate gets two 20-minute, in-person, non-contact visits per calendar week, so decide whether you’re aiming for one visit or both.
  3. Choose the time window that works for you - With one scheduled day, plan around the morning and/or evening visiting hours on that weekday.
  4. Coordinate with other family members - If multiple people want to visit, it helps to agree on who will use the two weekly visits so they don’t get used up unexpectedly.

Registration opens 15 minutes before each session starts - so 8:15 AM for morning visits and 6:15 PM for evening visits. Show up at the session start time and you've already missed your check-in window.

Tip: Arrive a few minutes before registration opens so you're ready to check in right away.

Quick Tips and Rules

  • How many visitors at once: Only two adults, or one adult with children under 16, may visit at a time.
  • Photo ID you can use: A current Texas or out-of-state driver’s license/ID (a paper license must be accompanied by another picture ID with the correct address), a current military ID, or a current alien identification card.

Leave these items in your car or outside: Cell phones, cameras, purses, packages, umbrellas, bags, and other container-type items aren’t allowed in the visitation area.

With only two 20-minute sessions per week, go in knowing what you want to talk about. Confirm the inmate's assigned day using the last-name rotation before you travel. If other family members plan to visit, coordinate so you use both weekly slots the way you intend.
