How to Send Money to Someone at Prince William–Manassas ADC (and What Happens to It When They're Released)

Inmates at Prince William–Manassas ADC can't keep cash. Instead, the facility maintains an individual account for each person. Any money you deposit goes into that account, which they use for commissary purchases and other charges during their stay.

You can mail certified funds - money orders, cashier's checks, or certified checks - to the Inmate Accounts office. Send them to: Prince William – Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center, Inmate Accounts, 9320 Lee Avenue, Manassas, VA 20110.

Prefer to deposit in person? There's a kiosk in the Central Jail lobby that accepts both cash and credit/debit cards. Expect a small convenience fee.

The Central Jail lobby also has a 24-hour drop box for certified funds. Use this for money orders or certified checks only - not loose cash.

Prepare Mailed

• ✓ Use certified funds (for example, a money order, cashier’s check, or certified check), not cash.
• ✓ Do not mail personal checks.
• ✓ Make the certified funds payable to the inmate.
• ✓ Include the purchaser’s name and address.
• ✓ Include the inmate’s jail number.
• ✓ Use a complete return address on the envelope.

Once the money hits the account, your loved one can spend it on commissary. Prince William–Manassas ADC offers various sundries, and inmates place orders once a week.

Upon release, the facility reviews the inmate's account to verify the final balance. Any remaining money is issued to them as a check.
