How to Set Up a Phone Account and Why You Can’t Call Into Prince George’s County CC
Trying to reach someone at Prince George's County Correctional Center? Here's the most important thing to know: you can't call in. All calls have to come from inside the facility—and setting up the right account ahead of time makes sure those calls actually go through.
Phone calls at Prince George's County Correctional Center only go one direction. The incarcerated person places an outgoing call, and you receive it. There's no way for the public to call in and get connected to someone inside. Waiting on a call can feel frustrating, but this is exactly why setting up your phone account early matters. When they're ready to call, your number and billing are already good to go.
You might hear from them sooner than expected - during processing. While being booked into the facility, incarcerated individuals get the chance to call family members or a bondsman. Keep your phone close if you're waiting on that first update.
- Call the phone vendor to create your account - Contact Inmate Telephone Incorporated (the facility’s vendor) at 1-888-949-3303 to set up a telephone account that allows an incarcerated individual to call you.
- Confirm the account is set up for calls from the facility - Once the account is active, it can be used so you can receive calls placed from inside the jail.
- Add funds if needed - After the account is created, you can add money to it (the vendor can tell you what options apply to your account).
Once your account is open, use Offender Connect for any questions or issues. It's the county's vendor portal for managing the phone system - billing questions, service problems, checking activity, or pulling a monthly statement all happen there.
Calls can also be paid from the incarcerated person's side. They can place outgoing debit calls using funds from their institutional account, with the cost deducted from that balance each time. If calls suddenly stop, a low institutional balance is often the reason.
Note: Offender Connect and the facility kiosks accept deposits into institutional accounts as well as into telephone accounts, which can help keep outgoing calls available.
