Before You Apply: Documents to Gather for RPSO Employment
At a Glance Required Documents
- ✓ Birth certificate (copy)
- ✓ High school diploma or GED certificate (copy)
- ✓ Current driver’s license (copy)
- ✓ Social Security card (copy)
- ✓ All college transcripts and/or degree(s) (copies)
- ✓ Military DD-214 (copy, if applicable)
RPSO accepts either hard copies or digital copies of the required documents. You can prepare paper versions, electronic files, or both - just make sure you have everything ready when you submit your application packet.
Attended college? Include copies of your transcripts and any degrees. If you have prior military service, include a copy of your DD-214. Having these ready upfront keeps your packet complete and saves HR from chasing down missing paperwork.
- Gather your copies into one packet - Include the required documents (birth certificate, high school diploma/GED, current driver’s license, Social Security card) plus any college transcripts/degree(s) and a DD-214 if applicable.
- Label your documents clearly - Put your name on each page or file and keep document types easy to identify (for example, “Birth Certificate” or “Driver’s License”) so nothing gets separated from your application.
- Submit in person if you’re dropping it off - Return your completed application to Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office Human Resources at the Rapides Parish Courthouse, 3rd Floor, Alexandria, Louisiana.
- Mail it if you’re sending it in - Mail your completed application to 701 Murray St, Suite 301, Alexandria, LA 71301.
